The Power of Presentation

‘The Power of Presentation’ is my attempt to challenge the viewer's perception of how large of a role presentation plays into the conceptual interpretation of photography. It’s obvious that photography is inherently creative but how an image is presented is often overlooked in the creative process. For ‘The Power of Presentation’ I have chosen one image to use 9 different printing processes. Some of these processes are more commonly used, like inkjet or silver gelatin printing, but some are experimental processes that dramatically shift the interpretation of the photograph. Each print evokes a different emotion than the others. Not each print will resonate with each viewer. Some will. One person might think one print evokes a longing sadness while another would see a set determination. Personal favorites are bound to change with the viewer. This is the point of my project. The Power of Presentation illustrates the importance of the creative decisions made by photographers after the actual capturing of an image.
